Become a Sister
Recognizing a calling to the Dominican Sisters of San Rafael is a significant moment in one’s life. We can help you understand the life transition it would require and discover how fulfilling it can become.
The Process
The first step to investigating life as a Dominican Sisters of San Rafael is getting acquainted. There are a variety of ways to do this.
Visit one of our convents for an evening and share prayer, conversation and a meal. By getting to know us you may discover whether or not this way of life is a “fit.”
Attend our celebrations, ceremonies, and events. By joining us to celebrate, to pray, or to study, you will have an opportunity to witness the joy of our commitment to the Dominican life.
Stay with us for a few days at one of our convents. It’s the most telling way to experience what our daily life of prayer, ministry and community is like.
Attend a retreat or event. Periodically we offer retreats and days of prayer – a nice way to get to know our congregation. Upcoming events are listed on our Events page.
A Considered Process
Getting acquainted takes time (between 6 months to a year). During this process of considering a religious life, we will put you in touch with a Vocation Minister. She can answer questions, help you learn more about our charism, and get to know the sisters and experience their vitality, joy and community.
