Pierre Teilhard de Chardin the Mystic: Exploring the Five Circles of the Divine Milieu

By exploring the five circles of the Mystical Milieu, we come to understand that “by means of all created things, the divine assails us, penetrates us, and molds us…this world which we are prone to treat with boredom and disrespect…is, in truth, a holy place, and we sis did not know it…come, let us adore.” (The Divine Milieu, p. 112)

Sr. Ruth Droege, OP, before entering the Dominican Sisters of San Rafael, obtained a Ph.D. in Theology from St. Mary College, Notre Dame, Indiana, in 1953. She taught at Dominican College (now Dominican University of California) until 1984. During that time, she completed a Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology in Berkeley. From 1984 to 2007, she served as Director of Assessment at Southdown, New Market in Ontario, Canada, an inpatient facility that provided treatment for religious. After retiring to San Rafael, she has served as co-leader of the Teilhard Learning Group at Santa Sabina Center beginning in 2016.
