Gather@Grand—An Advent Retreat

Vessels of Love: A Contemplative Advent Retreat
Led by Colette Lafia
Hosted by: Gather@Grand—Dominican Sisters of San Rafael in partnership with the Pacific Center for Spiritual Formation
During this tender season of Advent, we will come together to open ourselves more fully as vessels of Divine love. “God loves things by becoming them,” writes Richard Rohr in The Universal Christ. “Everyone and everything is a vessel in which God’s love is always flowing.” Through silence, scripture, creative expression, and contemplative sharing, we will enter more deeply into this incarnational vision: that matter and spirit have never been separate, and that Divine Presence is continually taking form in and through creation. We will reflect on the incarnation of Jesus and listen for its invitation in our own lives.
Together, we will:
- Explore the mystery of incarnation and its meaning for our lives
- Reflect on the teachings of Richard Rohr and Meister Eckhart
- Listen for how Divine love is inviting our participation
- Engage in silence, scripture, reflection, and creative expression
Join us this Advent as we listen for how Divine love is already flowing in and through us, and how we are being invited to embody it more fully.
