#justiceOPportunity Thursday—November 12, 2020

It’s #justiceOPportunity Thursday—and we are asking you to join us in helping victims of Hurricane Eta.

On the 22nd anniversary of Hurricane Mitch which left over 11,000 fatalities in Honduras and the region, our sisters and brothers across Central America are reeling from yet another fierce hurricane – Hurricane Eta. In Nicaragua and Honduras, mass evacuations have been ordered. El Salvador has already suffered a mud landslide, leaving more than 10 people dead, 44 disappeared and more than 110 people homeless, without clothes or food in the town of Los Angelitos II, located on the Volcano of San Salvador. Our friend, Sister Rosa Maria of the School Sisters of Notre Dame in Honduras writes: “Hurricane ETA confronts us, and because of our vulnerability and governmental neglect for years, our poorest people are the ones who pay for it. I ask for your prayers and material support, and you can count on mine.”

Please consider supporting the relief effort here.
