#justiceOPportunity Thursday: March 5, 2020
Sr. Judy Lu McDonnell, OP
Ms. Lyn Kirkconnell
It’s #justiceOPportunity Thursday, and we hope you will join us in our efforts to support the #HomeisHere movement to raise awareness of the Dreamers Act and to defend DACA and immigrant families. “Home is where we love and learn. It’s where we stumble and grow and it is where we stand up for what is right. Join the fight to help defend DACA and the 11 million undocumented immigrants.”
The Supreme Court’s decision in 2020, which can happen any time between now and June, will define our nation. If the Supreme Court Justices let the Trump Administration end DACA, they will be putting the lives of millions in immediate danger. Without protection, DACA recipients could lose their homes, their livelihoods. If DACA ends, they will be added to the list of those in constant danger of being deported and separated from their families, including their 256,000 U.S. citizen children.
Undocumented immigrants, like most people, live, work, and contribute — and every member of their families deserves to stay in the country that is their home.
The overwhelming majority of Americans support DACA, and now is the time for our voices to be heard. And for DACA recipients, now is the time to renew your DACA. We can keep DACA recipients here, together with the people they love, because their home is here.
