It’s #justiceOPportunity Thursday, and we hope you will join us in an urgent appeal to Governor Gavin Newsom to include immigrant tax filers in the CalEITC now! The California Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC) is critical for staving off the devastating economic impact of coronavirus, but immigrant tax filers continue to be excluded. For too long, immigrants have been excluded from the CalEITC, Unemployment Insurance, and other vital benefits. Unsurprisingly, immigrants are almost completely excluded from the federal stimulus package to respond to coronavirus. We can’t exclude our communities any longer. California must step up! We need the Governor to retroactively include ALL low-income workers in the CalEITC and Young Child Tax Credit right away. Please act now to make sure ALL of our families are cared for!
