Become a Friend!
We believe in the future – the future of our Church and of religious life! We believe in it so much that we are looking for partners to spread the word! We invite all Catholics to become part of our growing Vocation Ambassador Team!
The Vocation Ambassador Team is a new initiative inspired by our recent participation in a National Religious Vocation (NRVC) sponsored workshop: “Share the Sacred.” The workshop created teams from across the country that included young adults, and gave them the tools to become “Vocation Ambassadors” to religious life. Twelve religious communities, including ours, were selected to participate. Together we learned new ways to promote and celebrate religious life in our world today!
The focus of our local “Vocation Ambassador Team” is to join with Marin County Catholics in prayer and conversation – celebrating the vocation to religious life. Together, we hope to increase an appreciation for the vocation to religious life right here!
These gatherings are also a wonderful way for the Marin County Catholic community to get to know the Dominican Sisters of San Rafael! For more than 165 years we have served God’s people, and we have deep roots in this county!
As a team, we’ll share our tools and experience, so we can all feel good about extending an invitation to someone they meet who may have a vocation to religious life! You simply never know if you “know somebody who knows somebody” who may be quietly discerning this call. Studies have shown that it’s often a simple verbal invitation that ignites that special spark within, to open up one’s heart to a possible vocation to religious life!
Together, we’ll inspire and empower one another to become messengers to others about a vocation to a life of service for the sake of the Gospel.
We invite you to join this joyful conversation at our next “Vocation Ambassador Team” meeting: Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the Dominican Sisters Center 1520 Grand Avenue in San Rafael.
We look forward to welcoming you in friendship and hope!
