Engaging Laudato Si’ Introduction Reflection

In reading the introduction, I was touched by Pope Francis’ strong language (“urgently appeal”) and inclusiveness (“ every person living on this planet”). I feel little wiggle room in maintaining my current participation in our throw away culture. I want to reexamine my choices when I consider upgrading a phone if my current one is still functioning or buying new clothes when I have more than an adequate supply of choices each morning when I dress. We try to carpool when appropriate but when was my last bus trip? What will a new lifestyle mean when I already try to be simple?
