SUMMARY:Gather@Grand: Three Bible Short Stories... Scriptured!
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our Gather@Grand Winter Quarter Series: Three Bible Short Stories… Scriptured! \nThe Winter Quarter will be presented in three parts and explored over three sessions each. Our first session begins on December 3\, 2025. \nWhat stories? The stories we will read are in every Bible\, same words.\nBut here’s how we will customize them: \nAdam and Eve (Genesis 1-4): What seems to start well goes badly awry\, and we need to understand what is available to us from a careful\, creative\, and critical consideration of what is actually two stories of these ancestors of us (not just Adam and Eve but their children as well). What are the claims about the origins of all that exists? How to gain insight without needing to attribute shame or blame? \nDecember 3\, 10\, 17 \nWednesdays early evening: 7 – 8:15 p.m. \nREGISTRATION \n\nRegister for December 3\nRegister for December 10\nRegister for December 17\n\nSAVE THE DATE: \nJonah: Suppose God gives us a life experience we really do not want and are not enjoying\, even have tried to avoid. How might pushback work (ours and God’s)\, and how might we learn even from adventures we would rather not have had (at least while in the midst of them)—while appreciating them more later? \nJanuary 5\, 12\, 26 Monday afternoons: 3 – 4:15 p.m. \nRuth: Suppose we find ourselves in the middle of a set of situations we would never have chosen but can see that there are silver linings to them\, if we can shift our mood or interpretive framework a bit? What’s available? How do these characters show us how a “quarter-turn” works? \nFebruary 2\, 9\, 23 Monday afternoons 3 – 4:15 p.m. \nNOTE: \n\nThere is a Zoom option available.\nFeel free to invite others—please register them or ask them to register.
